Volumes & Terrain Modeling

Using high resolution imagery and highly accurate LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging), Axiom can generate precise 3-dimensional terrain models that can be used for:

- Stock pile volumes
- Cut and fill analysis for earthworks
- Drainage analysis
- Terrain mapping

Orthomosaic Maps

Orthomosaic maps represent real-time conditions of a site. They can be used for site assessment, inventory and progress reports, and can be collected in conjunction with other surveys, such as LiDAR or thermal, or independently. Applications include:

- High resolution aerial imagery
- Georeferenced maps
- Site assessments
- Land use analysis
- Construction monitoring and as-built reports
- Insurance claims

3D Modelling

High accuracy 3D models can be generated from both photogrammetry and LiDAR surveys. Photogrammetry takes a large number of aerial images, and using specialized software, generates a high precision digital 3D representation of the area of interest. LiDAR, or Light Detection and Ranging, uses millions of laser pulses to generate a similar representation of an area. Applications include:

- Volumetric and spatial analysis
- Digital Elevation / Surface / Terrain Models
- Topography and contour mapping
- Slope, Drainage and watershed analysis
- Precision grading and earthworks
- 3D model generation

LiDAR

LiDAR, or Light Detection and Ranging, uses millions of laser pulses to generate highly accurate digital 3D representations of the area of interest. LiDAR is particularly good for areas of high vegetative growth, or in poor lighting conditions. LiDAR surveys are used to capture topography (bare earth terrain) and above ground features, such as trees, buildings, and other infrastructure. Classification of features allows for efficient & thorough analysis of the data, and to focus in on the details of interest. Applications include:

- Digital Elevation / Surface / Terrain Models
- Topography and contour mapping 
- Slope, Drainage and watershed analysis

Thermal & Spectral Imaging

High resolution thermal and spectral imaging lets you look beyond what we can see with our eyes.

Thermal: Thermal imaging captures thermal infrared light, which allows us to identify heat energy. By detecting this infrared light, it is possible to produce images, or heat maps, of how much heat energy is being released. Applications include:

- Infrastructure and utilities inspection 
- Pipeline inspection

Multispectral (NDVI): Multispectral imaging looks at visual and near infrared light reflected from vegetation. By generating a Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) image, it is possible to ascertain plant health, stress levels and growth, and even plant species. Applications include:

- Crop health analysis 
- Precision farming applications 
- Pest and invasive species detection 
- Species classification and stand discrimination
- Biomass and growth monitoring

Hyperspectral: Hyperspectral imaging records in fine detail the different levels of light reflected from a surveyed area. Where multispectral imaging groups, or bins, many contiguous wavelengths of light together, hyperspectral records a full spectral profile, enabling much more information to be collected. This information can then be used for finding objects and identifying materials. Applications include:

- Mineral exploration 
- Hydrocarbon detection
- Environmental remediation

Aeromagnetic Surveys

Aeromagnetic surveys are widely used in the production of geological maps and are also commonly used during mineral and petroleum exploration. Since many mineral deposits are associated with an increase or decrease in the abundance of magnetic minerals, and occasionally the sought after commodity may itself be magnetic (such as iron ore deposits), this information can be used to help pinpoint these deposits and also for modelling of sub-surface features, such as the extent of ore bodies. Aeromagnetic surveys can also be used for environmental remediation, where buried metallic waste can be identified without extensive and intrusive sampling.

Utilizing compact and high-sensitivity magnetometers, Axiom can provide magnetic surveys at a fraction of the cost of conventional airborne and ground-based surveys and is ideal for small to medium scale surveys (100 to 1000+ line kilometers).
